UEKI Privacy Policy
Test version · Last updated: October 19, 2026
UEKI is a collaborative app for finding free parking spots: when you see a free spot (for example, the one you leave when driving away), you report it, and other people see it on the map. To work, it needs your location, so we want to explain clearly what data we use, what for, and who can see it.

This is a translation of the original Spanish version, which prevails in case of any discrepancy.
Summary
- Your location is used on your phone, while the app is open. We do not track you in the background or store your route.
- We only store a location when you report a spot (or confirm that you left one).
- Others see free spots and the reputation of whoever reported them, never your email or your name.
- We do not sell your data, show ads or use tracking or analytics tools.
What data we store
Your account
- Your email and your password (the password is stored encrypted by our authentication provider; we cannot see it).
- If you sign in with Google: the email, name and profile picture that Google shares at sign-in. The app does not show your name or picture to anyone.
- The date you accepted the terms and the version you accepted.
What you do in the app
- Spots you report: the location of the spot, its address, the date and time, and whether you reported it or the app detected it (in that case, it is only stored if you answer yes when the app asks "Did you just leave?").
- Spots you mark as taken: which spot you marked and when. To do this you need to be less than 50 meters away; the app sends your position to check this, but does not store it.
- Votes you give to other people's spots.
- Your reputation, calculated from the votes your reports receive.
Error logs
- When something fails (for example, a sign-in), we store a technical log with the type of error, the phone's operating system and your user ID, so we can fix it. Logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.
How we use your location
UEKI asks for permission to use your location only while the app is open. With that permission, it:
- Shows your position on the map and the distance to each spot.
- Detects, within your phone, whether you parked and then left, to ask you whether you want to report the spot as free. That analysis never leaves the phone: the spot's location is only sent if you answer yes.
- Checks that you are close to a spot before marking it as taken.
We do not use your location while the app is closed, and we do not store your movement history.
What other people see
Anyone using the app (even without an account) can see the active free spots: their location, address, how long ago they were reported and the reputation of whoever reported them (1 to 5 little cars). A spot stops being shown after a few minutes, or when someone confirms it was taken. Expired spots, and who reported each spot, are not public.
No one sees your email, name, picture, votes or the spots you marked as taken.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or transfer your data. To work, the app uses these services, which process data on our behalf:
- Supabase (database and authentication). Data is hosted on servers located in São Paulo, Brazil.
- Google Maps (Google) shows the map on your phone.
- Google Geocoding (Google) receives the location of a spot you report, to get its address.
- Google Sign-In (Google), if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Navigation apps: if you tap "Navigate", the app opens Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps with the spot's location. From then on, that app's privacy policy applies.
How long we keep data
- Your account and profile: as long as you have the account.
- Error logs: 14 days.
- Who reported each spot: 30 days. After that the spot is left without an author: its location and time are kept, without any data about you, to calculate statistics (for example, how long it takes for a spot to be taken in each area).
- Spots you marked as taken: 30 days; then they are deleted.
- Votes: as long as you have the account (they support the reputation of those who received them).
While few people use the app, a spot without an author could still be linked to someone (for example, if they are the only person using it in their neighborhood). We take this into account and do not use that data to identify anyone.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data by writing to [email protected].
You can delete your account at any time from the app: user menu → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you no longer have the app, ask us by email.
When your account is deleted, your profile, your votes and the spots you marked as taken are deleted. The spots you reported are left without an author, and error logs are left without your user ID.
Under Argentine law (article 14, paragraph 3 of Law No. 25,326), the data subject has the right to access their personal data free of charge at intervals of no less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is shown. The AGENCIA DE ACCESO A LA INFORMACIÓN PÚBLICA, as the supervisory authority under Law No. 25,326, is empowered to handle complaints and claims from anyone whose rights are affected by non-compliance with personal data protection rules.
Security
Communication between the app and our servers is encrypted. In the database, each person can only read their own private data (profile, votes, spots marked as taken). No system is infallible: if we detect a problem affecting your data, we will let you know.
Minimum age
UEKI is meant for people who drive. It is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy in a significant way, the app will ask you to accept it again.
